Hosted by New Tech Network and Samueli Academy
Join us as we bring together educators across the region for hands-on learning and authentic connection. These events offer opportunities to deepen practice, exchange ideas, and explore strategies for meaningful learning experiences. Designed for both more experienced educators and those new to PBL, these workshops combine practical tools, collaborative design time, and opportunities to connect with like-minded educators. Learn locally, grow collectively, and take your practice further.
This fall we are bringing TWO events to Samueli Academy
- Foundational Practices for Teachers
- Meeting of the Minds Collaborative Workshop.

Foundational Practices for Teachers
A one-day workshop for K-12 educators
The best classrooms don't happen by accident. They're built through deliberate relationships, purposeful design, and an ongoing commitment to making learning meaningful for every student. For educators in their first years, that work starts with having the right foundation.
Foundational Practices for Teachers is a one-day learning experience that gives educators concrete tools, collaborative time, and real classroom examples to explore what deeper learning looks like in practice. Through hands-on activities, you'll build a shared framework for designing instruction that is standards-aligned, student-centered, and grounded in the kinds of relationships that make learning possible. You'll leave with strategies you can try the following week, a community of colleagues navigating similar terrain, and practices grounded in what your students actually need.

Meeting of the Minds Collaborative Workshop
A one-day workshop for experienced K–12 educators
Meeting of the Minds is an opportunity for experienced K–12 educators in your region to step away from the pace of the school year and come together for a day of connection, planning, and idea-building. This workshop is a collaborative, structured experience designed around the expertise and energy each participant brings.
Our focus for the day will be anchored in designing projects for deeper learning and exploring how the NTN Practice Cards can push and deepen your existing project designs. Throughout the day, we'll explore classroom questions and instructional challenges together, drawing on each other’s experience to surface new approaches for the upcoming school year. Whether you’re refining a project or tackling a persistent instructional challenge, you’ll have the time, coaching, and peer support to make meaningful progress. By the end of the collaborative workshop, you’ll walk away with concrete takeaways to strengthen your practice plus a new circle of colleagues from your region who you can connect and collaborate with long after the event ends.
“I love NTN events because they fill my bucket and spark so many great ideas for better serving my learning community.” – past event attendee
